- Synopsis
- Slocum recounts the memories of the young François, growing up beside the Marne river in the late 1940s. One day François’ stepfather starts building a boat in the back garden. Meanwhile the boy's imagination is inflamed by the diary of Joshua Slocum, the first man who circumnavigated the world alone in the 1890s.
