    • Synopsis
    • A young man has been made redundant in winter from a shipyard in Kaitan city due to down-sizing. He and his younger sister clutch on to what little money they have left and climb a mountain to see the first sun rise of the New Year.
      An operator of a planetarium is hurt by the betrayal of his wife.
      A young boss of a fuel company cannot contain his frustration.
      A son who doesn’t get on with his father doesn’t even visit him during his homecoming.
      A cat, belonging to an old woman who is served an eviction notice, disappears one day.
      Each of these events is small and commonplace.
      Trams run through these people‘s lives and the snow accumulates on top.
      Everyone carries on living while feeling the significance of what they have lost, regretting and weeping over it.
