- Synopsis
- In 1966, a young idealistic nun is sent to teach in a chaotic girls school in working class corner of Belfast. She’d rather be in Africa than rubbing shoulders with the working classes. But her strong gut reactions against sexism and inequality soon force her to step forward to take over the running and management of the riotous school, turning it, in time, into a respected establishment sending educated young women into the world. But when the simmering Troubles explode, she must learn to fight again for her principles and for her girls, while all around the fractures in the community grow deeper and deeper.
