    • Synopsis
    • In the 1960's, a new teacher comes to a small island in the Seto Inland Sea, to teach at a school with only seven students. The new teacher, Seigo, cannot speak. Not knowing this, the students are very anxious to meet their new teacher and await him with anticipation. At first taken aback, the children soon welcome the new teacher. They call him "Silent Big Man". Seigo and the students eventually become very close. The children had never thought of a day their beloved teacher would leave the island. Meanwhile, an invitation urging Seigo to enter the annual Kendo fencing tournament arrives. It was during a kendo match that an accident took his voice. Seigo takes the bamboo sword for the last time to show true courage to his pupils, and to face his own fate. "Can you hear my heart speak?"
