    • Synopsis
    • It only took a single email to change Tatsuo’s life.
Attached was a video of his friend, beaten almost beyond recognition, and a photo of his bloodied rib bones on a steel tray... Tatsuo discovers that he and his friends are being targeted by some unknown enemy, and rushes to meet his girlfriend Aya, but on the way he is caught in an ambush, and falls unconscious.

Tatsuo comes to in a darkened warehouse, where he is confronted by a “retributionist” who calls himself Aka. The strange young man tells him that he has been hired by a yakuza named Kitajima, who was previously caught in a marriage scam and seriously injured by Tatsuo. Aka’s objective is to plunge him into a state of despair and torment far worse than death.

Aka laughs in delight at the sight of the terrified Tatsuo, but by chance he realizes that they share a fateful connection, and decides to drag him into his world.

Aka offers Tatsuo a chance to save himself. All he has to do is beat fellow prisoner Kitajima to death with his own hands. Knowing it is the only way he can escape certain death, Tatsuo brutally kills Kitajima. His consciousness descends into darkness once again...

When he awakens, he is being watched over by a female retributionist named Kinu, and a doctor named Yoshida. Kinu explains what the job of a retributionist entails, and tells him that their boss is a mysterious figure called “Zebra.”

Tatsuo begins to warm to the idea of becoming a retributionist, which involves being hired by scum to dispose of scum. Then he receives a phone call from Zebra himself. He is given a new name, Dora, and makes up his mind to start a new life.
