- Pulitzer Prize-winner David Turnley has created a wrenching portrait of Shenandoah, PA a working class coal mining town whose identity and values are challenged when four of the town's white high school football stars were charged in the senseless beating and murder of an undocumented Mexican immigrant who had settled in the town, had started a family and was trying to live out his own version of the American dream. None of the lives of those affected in the US or Mexico would ever be the same again.
