    • Over-cossetted by his recently deceased parents, guileless recluse John Cunliffe (28) is savagely attacked by his jealous neighbour Eugene in a not-so-random act of violence. He regains consciousness in another world – a hospital ward where he is cared for by nurse Siobhán and befriended by a fellow patient, the mischievous Dave. John delights in the flirtations of Siobhán, and is distracted by the outrageous behaviour of Dave – but gentle John Cunliffe is still traumatised by the savagery of his assault.

On his release home to Conamara, John discovers that his inherited barren farmland has become exceptionally valuable due to a local windfarm development. His only adult friend, elderly neighbour Paddy, cautions John against betraying his parents by selling his land. He is properly stuck. But when his newfound hospital friends Siobhán and Dave come to visit, John, for the first time in his fledgling 28 years, has to negotiate the choppy waters of trust, friendship and... could it be true... romance?

Having now been enticed from his shell, John is faced with a stark choice. Does he scurry back to his reclusive life before he was attacked, or does he harness his new-found confidence to seek vengeance on his assailant Eugene?
