- Synopsis
- In Dallas, Texas, free-spirited Victoria has recently graduated from school and wishes to celebrate with an adventure off the beaten track… all the way to outback Australia. Her matriarch grandmother , a mining magnate Dame Ruth Whitworth, forbids it with no explanation. Victoria’s parents are both dead and she is the sole heir to the considerable Whitworth fortune. Drawn to the outback, Victoria convinces her two close friends to sneak off to the land of Oz.
  
  It is in the outback that dark shadows are looming, shadows not just of Dame Ruth’s past but shadows of spirits looking for closure. Closure which only Whitworth can provide. These nomadic uneasy spirits are responsible for these calamities falling on Victoria and her friends: the spirits attacks the shadow, so that what happens to your shadow, happens to you.
  
  When Dame Ruth learns of all this, she heads to Australia to deal with it – she knows what is going on. Years earlier, in Dame Ruth had to make choices between her indigenious love and her western family who were leading the drive to mine the land and turn a profit. Her choices left her lover to the mercy of western settlers . He was killed but his shadow still searching or looking for revenge.
  
  With the Dame Ruth keeping a watchful eye on Victoria’s fight, as she struggles to stay alive, will Ruth’s past help or hinder Victoria’s fight with the shadows? In order to stay alive, Victoria needs to stay in the dark, literally. Dame Ruth needs to keep her in the dark figuratively . Shadows is a struggle between two kinds of darkness where the winner will loose everything.
