    • Synopsis
    • Ana, a smart English Philology student who lives with her family in a suburb in Seville, teaches Sevillanas dance classes in English to kids. But that income is not enough to solve her family’s financial problems. That’s why Ana decides to look for a job. This idea clashes with her mom’s desire, Carmen, who does not want her little girl to drop out of University. Carmen, indeed, has come up with a ridiculous plan to add some extra cash to what she earns as a cleaning lady. This insane plan consists of deceiving a students agency to host a rich American girl in exchange of $800 each month.
Carmen impersonates the owner of the luxury apartment where she cleans, and the trick seems to work, despite Ana’s disapproval. But a setback changes everything and the person who ends up living at Carmen’s humble flat is not a girl, but Ariel Brooklyn, a wealthy Afroamerican University student from Boston, obsessed with Social Media and posting videos 24/7.
Expecting a luxury life in Seville, Ariel freaks out when he meets his host family and the ridiculously small place where he must stay. His first night is quite weird (the police even chases him), so he reports the fraud. Nevertheless, he must stay one more day with Ana’s family, which triggers a series of unfortunate and hilarious situations, fun cultural contrasts, viral online videos and a love story.
Sevillanas from Brooklyn is a family and romantic comedy that portrays and compares the Seville culture with the United States idiosyncrasy. With a lot of sense of humor, far from cliches and with characters that will enthrall the audience, this film talks about family, first love, Seville and Andalusian culture.
