- Synopsis
- Sicily 19th‐century.Angela, 25, loves Sara, willing to face the world with her own homosexuality. Her father, a tyrannical paterfamilias, shuts her up in a cave. Seeing no way out her mother tricks the curate to change Angela’s name and sex on the birth certificate. So, sporting a cap and a cigar, ’Angelo’ marries Sara giving an outward picture‐ perfect family. The story interweaves facts, legend, and poetry, digging into an ancient scandal lost in time and the frontiers of identity.
