- Thanks to a revolutionary new therapy, Adam recovers from the terrible car accident that killed his family. But there are unexpected consequences: the young man starts to see the world around him as a living nightmare, covered with eerie pulsating alien flesh, and to see people, likewise, as terrifying alien creatures.
  Cut off from his former friends and afraid he’ll end up institutionalized, Adam is close to losing his mind when he meets Saya, a beautiful young woman who is strangely unaffected by his visions. Presenting herself as another patient, she insists they run away together. Already starting to fall in love with her, Adam is easily convinced.
  The bloody murders of Amber, a friend who makes the mistake of checking on Adam, and of the young man’s next door neighbors, slowly reveal a more disturbing truth: Saya is not actually human. It is Adam’s trauma that causes him to see her as a beautiful woman. To all others unfortunate enough to cross her path, she is a terrifying, pitiless monster! The hopeless lover refuses to see the signs until they’re too obvious to miss, and the revelation shakes him to the core. But his emotions soon get the best of him. To keep his love alive, Adam chooses to lock himself in his distorted vision of the world, and to cut off the last links to his past and humanity...
  Chris, Adam's oldest friend, is the only one who understands he is hiding something. Determined to find out what happened to Amber and now Sarah, his missing girlfriend, he discovers the dark secrets behind his friend’s medical treatment - and the true nature of Saya.
  A fatal confrontation looms between the two men, as well as with the police, also on the fugitives trail...
