    • Synopsis
    • Johan (Magnus Juhl Andersen) is working in the gay sauna Adonis. In the sauna it's mostly about sex and quick hookups, but Johan is longing for a deeper connection. When he meets William (Nina Rask) on Grindr, he falls in love. William is a trans man and he opens a new world for Johan, one where the fight for the right to be oneself justifies all means. But when Johan decides to introduce William to the sauna one evening, things go wrong. The owner of Adonis, refuses to allow a trans man to enter. The two minority groups are pitted against each other and when Johan steals money in the sauna to help William with his top-surgery, he gets fired from his job and loses his home.
      With this sacrifice, Johan believes he has earned a place in William’s community. Yet he senses a clear boundary in how much William is willing to let him into the community, or even into his life—in the end, William finds his transition more important than his relationship to Johan. In response, Johan tries various ways to prove his love, but repeatedly ends up politicizing William’s private life. The divide between their two minority groups grows within their relationship and Johans loneliness leads him onto a path of which eventually breaks their relationship apart. In desperation and grief, Johan decides to make one last effort to show William how much he loves him.
