      A comedy-drama by Writer/Director Eliza Schroeder
Mimi, a charismatic personality in her mid 60s reopens Sarah’s, a charming restaurant in Notting Hill that belonged to her daughter Sarah. A car crash put an end to her life and leaves her devastated daughter Clarissa, Mimi’s granddaughter behind. The reopening of the restaurant shall keep Sarah’s spirit alive. Mimi quickly gathers a group of different characters around her. All of them seem to have one thing in common: they’ve lost their belief in life.
Clarissa is paralyzed by the loss of her parents and has stopped her dancing career. Luigi, chef of Sarah’s and Mimi’s close companion, tries to convince himself every day that he has found true love to protect himself from the big fear that he won’t. Felix, a German Jew, suffers writers’ block after the loss of his beloved wife. Isabella, an old friend of Sarah’s from her Paris days, suddenly appears in the restaurant, seeking Mimi’s motherly support.
The moment, Mimi understands that all these people need a guiding hand, she receives devastating news: she has terminal cancer with only a couple of months to live. According to her nature, she makes an inspiring decision: Mimi wants to fight, not for her own life, but for the lives of those around her.
From now on, Mimi is in a race against time and subtly motivates all of her friends to get back on track again: She encourages Clarissa to resume dancing and with it her belief in life. Luigi brushes up his self-confidence and finally finds true love and Isabella starts dating again.
But life confronts Mimi with two challenges she least expected: Mathieu, Mimi’s doctor and the only person who shares the secret of her illness, falls for Isabella. And, Mimi herself falls in love with Felix as much as he does with her, while inspiring him to write again.
Mathieu, prevented by patient confidentiality, faces a big dilemma. He has to let Mimi die without being able to inform his newfound love Isabella about it. Isabella has had a bad experience in the past and is therefore sceptical about his motives. Feeling betrayed she risks losing him and only fights to win him back when it’s nearly too late.
Apart from Felix, whom Mimi lets in on her secret, no one else knows about her fatal illness. As a labour of love, he promises her to take care of Clarissa and the restaurant. With Mimi’s death, everyone realizes how she brought them back to life and so they reopen Sarah’s once again, united and connected through the wish to keep her spirit alive.
This story brings different lives and nationalities together across the generations. In the heart of Notting Hill. It tells the story of an exceptional, captivating spirit, delicious food, dealing with the hand of fate and finding love in the most unlikely places!
