    • A hidden love blossoming in the beautiful country side of 19th century Japan only to be cruelly twisted by fate. In 19th century rural Japan, young samurai Maki Bunshiro and his friends are training as swordsmen when tragedy suddenly strikes. His father Sukezaemon, a highly respected samurai, is embroiled in a clan conspiracy and ordered to commit hara-kiri (ritual suicide) for treason. At 16 years old, a cruel fate awaits the son of the disgraced samurai. Bunshiro and his mother are shunned by the other villagers and must face many hardships. However, even during this time, his neighbor's daughter Fuku watches on with affection. The two teenagers hide their love for each other deep inside their hearts. But fate plays another cruel trick. Fuku is sent to Edo (Tokyo). The budding love affair remains only a memory. Now as a young man, Bunshiro is reinstated to his previous noble position by Chief Retainer Satomura, the very man who ruined his father. One day his childhood friends visit and tell him astonishing news that Fuku has become the Lord's second concubine and is carrying his illegitimate child, who threatens the line of succession. Bunshiro is ordered to kidnap the child to restore the hierarchical succession and his family name. Will he draw his sword to restore his honor or will he protect his true love from harm…
