- Set in a sun-soaked coastal town split by money, memory, and the river that runs through it, Salt Life follows bartender Mikki D’Iorio as she investigates the suspicious death of her father, a beloved dockside bar owner. As whispers of murder and smuggling ripple through the working-class community, old secrets resurface—including a decades-old love triangle, a mysterious drifter with ties to the past, and a town divided by class: the gritty Dock Rats, the elite Bayfronts, and the slippery Brackish in between. With the local radio echoing tides, town meetings, and CCR throwbacks, Mikki and her longtime best friend-turned-frenemy Jo Jo navigate loyalty, loss, and the dark undercurrents of a town where salt water isn’t the only thing that stains.
