A rich and spoiled Italian-American teenager is sent by his father to spend a year with his relatives in the South of Italy, as a form of punishment. He ends up spending the craziest summer of his life in the region of Salento, a holiday spot where the values of ancient rural.

- Synopsis
- William is the prodigal son of a wealthy Italian American entrepreneur who lives in Beverly
  Hills. When his popular girlfriend leaves him for another boy from a wealthier family, he gets
  drunk and destroys daddy’s Lamborghini. His father thus decides to punish him by sending
  him for his sabbatical year to live with aunt Pupa, his old cousin who still lives in the original
  town of the Germano family: Santa Maria di Leuca, a small fishermen’s village in the heel of
  Italy.
  The protagonist will find himself changing his life from being a rich and spoiled kid and
  adapting to the lifestyle of southern and provincial Italy.
  After the cultural shock, the summer of “Salento” arrives, and Will discovers a far more
  libertine and exaggerated world than the one he was used to in Los Angeles, with new loves,
  new friendships, new steps to becoming adults. He becomes inseparable with his cousin
  Nicola and his friend Ombretta, and falls for the beautiful Laura. From the culture of wealth
  to the richness of culture, Will discovers that America may not be the center of the world
  after all.
  But William is used to thinking with a full wallet, and finds in organized crime the most
  varied temptations to make easy money, overwhelmed by Antonio, the small-town bully and
  his rival in love, who puts him in the shady business of the Sacra Corona Unita, the local
  Mob, endangering his life and that of his friends.
