    • Synopsis
    • This series of four episodes will cover the trajectory of the Schmidt-Grael family in Brazilian sailing. Alex and Erik Schmidt were pioneers in Brazil, conquering titles trough out the world, becoming Brazilian’s idols. The second generation is represented by Torben Grael, with 30 brazilian titles, 6 world championships and 5 Olympic medals, and Lars Grael, who had already won two Olympic medals and dozens of titles when he suffered a severe accident that cost him one leg, becoming a symbol of overcoming to the country when he returned to sail only 3 months after the accident. Since then, he has already conquered international titles, such as the world championship of the Star class in 2015. Even though the third generation carries with them the responsibility to match the expectations of successful trajectory, they prove worthy of the legacy. Martine and Marco, Torben’s children, have already represented Brazil in the Olympics, where she took home the gold in 2016. Nicholas, Lars’ son, is taking the first steps in the 49er class, promising to follow his father’s and every generation success.
