    • Synopsis
    • Against all Meena’s instincts, an abortion has been booked for her. She therefore decides to flee her home and oppressive boyfriend, heading for her one remaining option: to visit a younger, obedient admirer, a student named Paul. So she stays with him, waits out the week before the abortion, hopes to find his feelings for her have not subsided; hopes that he’s chivalrous enough to provide her with a solution to keeping the baby.
It’s obvious he still loves her, but it’s embarrassing. It brings home to Meena a sudden desperation: she cannot force herself to love him. She will have to go through with the abortion.
Yet at her darkest moment, a new opportunity presents itself: Paul’s housemate, Dan. The attraction is reciprocal; he cherishes and woos her. Secretly she starts to believe she can prevent the abortion. The fear of his rejection is too much for her to contemplate and so she devises a situation, plans to surprise him: pretend the baby she already carries is his; she can escape the trauma of the abortion and keep the baby.
However, it doesn’t take Paul long to work out her plan and her pleads for his co-operation lead him towards a dilemma all of his own.
