    • Synopsis
    • Yamada (Kenichi Matsuyama) arrives in a small village in the Hokuriku region and begins to work at a small factory which makes shiokara (salted fish paste).
      Through the introduction of the boss of the factory, he begins to live in at an old and cheap apartment building called Mukolitta(Buddhist unit of time).
      The first day in his apartment, the neighbor Shimada (Tsuyoshi Muro), who lives a self-sufficient life, visits Yamada and asks to use a bath.
      Yamada feels confused and annoyed by his impudent behavior, but Yamada gradually begins to open his mind while connecting with people around him. Later Shimada learns the secret on Yamada's past....
      The story tells the emotional transition of Yamada who didn't mind dying at any time gradually finds and notices the "small happiness" surrounded by the inhabitants of the apartment who are a dropout but human-hearted.
