    • Synopsis
    • Ricardo Bär is a young man who lives with his family on a farm, near the border between Argentina and Brazil. Around him are jungles and small towns, populated by the descendants of German immigrants. Ricardo doesn’t want to inherit his father’s land, but rather became a pastor. We begin to film him, but one day he and the community toss us out from the town.
Ricardo Bär tells two stories: one of the negotiation to make the film, and one of Ricardo, about how he rehearses his role in his church’s nativity play, as he does every year, how he watches a film with Mel Gibson, how he puts a suckling pig in a bag, practices a sermon in a speech class, tries to walk upon the water in the pool of a camp for Christian youths, how he prays and thinks about what to do with his life, as he acts in a film that bears his name.
