    • One day at a Japanese TV station…
RETRO GAME MASTER began without fanfare in a conference room at Fuji Television in November 2003.
The star of the show is “the KACHO”!!, or middle manager played by Shinya Arino, he has dedicated himself to conquering the final stages of the silly, yet difficult video games from yesteryear. His quest has covered some sixty titles!!
RETRO GAME MASTER quickly became a hit with 20 or 30 something who love their Famikon’s or Nintendo’s and with kids re-discovering old video games. RETRO GAME MASTER has become a social phenomenon in this game lover’s kingdom, JAPAN.
Filming sessions routinely take over ten hours, “the KACHO” plays through his exhaustion, soldering on, determined to reach his holy grail: the ending scene of each game.
There were 9-hour marathon TV broadcast of the show on Christmas Eve in their 8th Season, 2007.
These days wherever public filming sessions or stage events are held, they are always jam-packed with enthusiastic fans showering “the KACHO” with their adoration.
At the Tokyo Game Show in 2006, the world’s largest game festival, the RETRO GAME MASTER venue were so packed that people had to be turned away at the door.
And the RETRO GAME MASTER stage show, was the highest attended FUJI-TV event of the year. People love “the KACHO!”
RETRO GAME MASTER is now unstoppable force!
Selling over 200,000 units of DVD box sets, and 100,000 original games!
The DVD’s shot No. 1 on Amazon Japan!
The merchandise is flying off the show!!
Even Tokyo’s busiest train line was given a full wrap-around advertising treatment.
Now the world is taking notice with the program getting a write up in WIRED magazine.
What new legend will RETRO GAME MASTER create next?!
