Synopsis
The "Red Orchestra" was the most important resistance group within the Third Reich, a vast espionage network, mainly located in Brussels and Paris during the Second World War. Its militants helped the Jews persecuted by the regime, hid deserters and gathered military information that would be decisive for the victory of the allies. By confronting the images and the story of a film made in the FRG and the ones from of a series made in the GDR at the beginning of the 1970s, we discover that each of the two films were telling only half the truth. And by meeting the descendants of these courageous resistance fighters, by filming on the important places of this history and by inviting some specialists of this time, the director Carl-Ludwig Rettinger proposes to shed light on this mythical espionage network.
