    • Synopsis
    • Masato (Takumi Saitoh) is an owner of a ramen joint in Takasaki province of Japan. Finding a suitcase and a notebook his deceased Singaporean mother had, he embarks on a journey to Singapore in order to find out his roots.

Her mother, Mei Lian (played by Singaporean Mediacorp star, Jeanette Aw) eloped with a Japanese man, Kazuo (Tsuyoshi Ihara), and migrated to Japan, but she passed away when Masato was eight years old.

Years pasted, Masato manages to meet with his mother’s brother guided by a popular blogger Miki living in Singapore (Seiko Matsuda-one of Japan’s most popular singers), and discovers that his maternal grandmother is still alive but harbours deep resentment towards Masato.

Borne from a rift of decades past, Masato and his grandmother’s broken souls’ only form of salvation lies in the kitchen, where the meals they cook become more than the sum of their ingredients…
