- Synopsis
- A family business run by two brothers, Mica (35), an introvert, gentle, kind-hearted, almost an idiot, and Mirko (24), a sinewy and lively young man, is going bankrupt. The grill house they are trying to keep afloat, which they have inherited from their late father, does not make sufficient money to sustain the two of them, their demented mother and Marija (20), Mirko’s pregnant girlfriend. They must find another source of income. Something illegal, because their legitimate business can’t cover all the expenses.
  They make a deal with a local mobster – Goran (xxxx), who was a good friend of their father. The deal is that Mica distributes cocaine and kebab delivery is used as a cover up. Mirko runs the business and reports to Goran. They have no other choice.
  While Mica is taking care of his part of the deal and looking after their mother and Marija, Mirko spends a lot of time with Goran who takes him to football matches, because he is a member of the Borad of the Directors of a local club, and to parties with hot young girls in flashy night clubs. Money is no longer an issue and Mirko feels alive again. However, Goran makes a demand as a form of payoff for bringing him into the business – he wants the land where the grill house is. Goran has a child and he wants to make some clean money for him. Construction is something that can get him that and Mirko’s land is perfectly located. Mirko finally gets the whole game.
  In the meantime, Marija and Mica develop a special relationship. She is very lonely and Mica is her only company, good and loyal as he is. Mirko can see that everything is falling apart and that he must take some action.
  He partners with Goran’s business associates and offers them the land provided they kick Goran out of the deal. He rats on him to the police. He betrays him. Goran kills himself before the police get him.
  Mica is another problem he needs to take care of because of the house and because he is bothered by his relationship with Marija. He gets the police to pull him over during one of his deliveries and Mica is taken to jail. The mother is placed in a nursing home.
  Mirko has to take care of his new family. He needs to provide for the baby. For Marija. He shows no mercy toward his brother or anyone else.
  Marija caresses Mirko’s head while he is lying on her lap, leaning on her belly.
  The grill house is torn down. A building rises in its stead.
  Mica is looking at the snowflakes falling. He thinks he can see his father in a uniform, looking at him and smoking.
