    • Synopsis
    • The daughter of a secular father and a devout mother tells the story of how they co-exist under one roof. Through photos and fictional conversations, we discover the family's change during the years of revolution in Iran. Using her own childhood as focus of the narrative, the author lets us witness the power struggle between her mother and father. During the revolution, their modern apartment – decorated with daring art by the father – gradually turns into a dreary, empty space in the hands of the religious mother. Like a diorama, the family home reflects the political events of the time. The family’s story becomes a central metaphor, depicting the intriguing puzzle that constitutes modern Iranian identity.
