- Synopsis
- Jin Feng is a left-behind woman in the rural areas of Shanxi Province, looking after her two daughters alone. She was pregnant with a third child, and the officers from the Family Planning Commission went to the door to ask for a fine of 40,000 yuan. Jin Feng was unable to pay, and the idea of abortion was born.
  
  In the routine inspection of the county hospital, Jin Feng realized that she was pregnant with a baby boy. She was ecstatic and gave up the abortion plan.
  
  She raised money around, but only raised 20,000. In order to avoid the family planning committee to pay a fine, Jin Feng hid in the county seat and was hiding in the big sister's home.
  
  Soon, officers from the Family Planning Commission found out the whereabouts of Jin Feng. One morning, a group of staff of the Family Planning Commission broke into her sister's house and took Jin Feng away. Jin Feng was forced to induce labor. Since then she had been mentally awkward.
  
  The husband came back from the field to look after her and found a fortune teller. The fortune teller said that the soul of Jin Feng was lost, and the husband was instructed to help Jin Feng call the soul. Jin Feng's body slowly recovered, but she often saw her son's baby spirit wandering at home. For peace, Jin Feng is dependent on Buddhism and meditates every day.
  
  Due to the livelihood, the husband had to go out to work. Before leaving, he bought a small donkey for his family and told Jin Feng that he wanted to have a son during the spring festival.
