Animation - Completed 2021

This film is an experimental artwork created by stop-motion animator Takeshi Yashiro, using a technique called “location time-lapse photography.”
In the spring of that year when the pandemic was raging around the world, Yashiro was forced to stay at home in Karuizawa, and so he began to test the possibilities of location time-lapse photography, the idea of which he had been secretly cultivating for several years.
With the ever-changing position of the sun, the unpredictable movement of clouds, and the influence of wind, Yashiro wondered if time-lapse photography done in an environment that was the complete opposite of a studio could really work as a work of art. Through repeated trial and error, he shot day and night at home in his garden, all by himself. The process was fruitful, as he was able to acquire a wealth of know-how as well as successfully complete the film as a work of art.
In this mockumentary, Yashiro throws himself into a slow paced way of life away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and asks us what true happiness is amidst the pandemic.
