September 2000. In a city near Lyon, a chemical industrial complex blows to pieces, causing many casualties. Among the 17 people killed, there are the parents of Leo and Ben.
Years later, nobody has taken credit for the accident whereas children of the area have been contaminated and have developed cancers. Ben is among the victims and his last chemo is being inefficient.
Ben decides to stop any treatment at the hospital, as he wants to end his life with his brother and their two best friends: Franck and Lounes.
Devastated, Leo wants to make his brother’s dream come true. Since their childhood, they have been imagining the hold-up of a bank, just like children play “cops and robbers”. Of course, Leo plans a fake hold-up with the help of a Bank Manager he works with.
The D day, the gang of friends attacks a bank but Franck has led them to a wrong address. Against all odds, they succeed in stealing a lot of money.
When the guys discover the mistake, they flip out. How to protect Ben who could have been identified by the Bank Manager ? What to do with the money ?
Finally, Ben decides to give all the money to Bruno who manages a Foundation, which supports the victims of the chemical tragedy. Victims just like Ben or Emilie, Bruno’s daughter and Ben’s co-bed at the hospital. Emilie who just died a few days ago…
Unfortunately, when Bruno makes a small deposit at his bank, the police turn up into his house as the notes were watermarked.
Since then, Leo, Ben, Franck and Lounes become fugitives. When detective Bartolomeo puts Bruno under arrest, the journey of our “gang” is sealed. Leo, in a video on YouTube, takes credit for the hold-up and makes a statement about the reasons, which led them to such action ! Through the social medias, the whole country is starting to take up the cause of Leo and his friends.
During their escape, they meet with Ana, the receptionist of the hotel they hide in. When the police is coming to ask questions about them, she covers them up, becoming the new member of the group.
The gang will find a way to launder the money they have robbed to support the victims’ family.
Eventually, detective Bartolomeo shows up at the hideout of the gang and summons Leo to give it up, in order to protect their future.
leo doesn’t want to stop their “mission” despite the reproaches of Ana. Finally, the gang organizes a very last hold-up. But things turn out badly. Ben dies. Leo, Franck and Lounes get caught.
After 7 years of jail, the gang joins Bruno who is now living in Argentina.
