    • Synopsis
    • One day, a high school girl named Haru comes to Kichijoji. She is looking for Sachiko, the woman mentioned in a letter she found in her late father Shinpei's belongings. Sachiko appears to have been his old girlfriend.
Currently living at Sachiko's address is Jun Yoshinaga, a female university student. Things are not going well for Jun ― even though she loves playing her guitar, she has given it up. She has to repeat a school year and, to top it all off, has split with her boyfriend. Jun becomes interested in Haru's cause, and together they start to search for Sachiko. They are directed to the owner of Jun's apartment building, Mr. Terada. It turns out that Mr. Terada knew Sachiko quite well. When the two girls locate Sachiko's house, they meet Sachiko's grandson, Tokio. He tells them that Sachiko passed away just recently.
Later, Tokio finds a reel-to-reel tape in Sachiko's belongings. Apparently, Shinpei and Sachiko used to play music together, and the tape contains a song sung by the couple. However, the tape is damaged and they cannot hear the song to the end. Tokio, Haru, and Jun decide to complete the song themselves; so we have a grandson and a daughter trying to finish a song that a grandmother and a father left unfinished. Jun, who's been frustrated with her life, wants to take this opportunity to find a direction, but it is difficult to complete the song. Then something unexpected happens to Haru ― transcending time, she meets Shinpei, Sachiko, and even Mr. Terada. With '60s Kichijoji merging with 2017 Kichijoji, a new song is created by Haru, Jun, and Tokio, who are now a single entity with Shinpei, Sachiko, and Mr. Terada.
