- Synopsis
- The film is set in 14th century medieval India. It is the story of Sultan Alauddin Khilji’s illicit obsession over the beautiful queen of Mewar - Rani Padmavati. Married to the Noble Rajput King Ratan Singh of Chittor, Padmavati’s beauty is incomparable. Ratan and Padmavati live a prosperous and peaceful life with their subjects in the walled fortress of Chittor until Alauddin, the ambitious Sultan of Delhi hears of her beauty.
  Blinded with the desire to see and posses her, Alauddin Khilji besieges the impregnable fortress of Chittor. After a gruelling six months of siege, Alauddin is forced to return home; but not forever.
  He returns with all his might and ruthlessly attacks the peaceful and glorious city of Chittor. After a fierce battle, Alauddin manages to capture the fortress of Chittor but even with all his might, he cannot overcome Ratan Singh's valour and Padmavati's honour as the Queen chooses to make the ultimate sacrifice to protect her dignity.
