    • Synopsis
    • Paco de Lucia: A Journey is a quest through different landscapes, which have transformed the genius guitar player. All begins at his home in Mallorca, with Paco leaving, guitar in hand, to start a new tour. Starting hence, the story alternates between past and present. On one hand, we are witnessing the evolution of an artistic and historic character and, secondly, we walk with him at different times in his last tours.

Through numerous interviews with Paco de Lucia at different times of his life, the artist explains that beyond its natural predisposition, what really determines the almost supernatural relationship with the guitar (almost an extension of himself), and we discover that it is the yard of his childhood house in which singers and guitarists gathered in the evenings to celebrate whatever.

Also tells how life is making him run into artists of different genres that catalyze his instinct, hence, the constantly search. The first is Sabicas, who suggests him, when he was a teenager, to stop playing music from others musicians and start to compose his own music. Years later, he will gather with three of the best jazz guitarists of his generation, Larry Coryell, John McLaughlin and Al DiMeola, who initiated him to be in the art of improvisation. This meeting will crystallize after the creation of the group Dolores, first; and popular Sextet, with which establishes the Modern Flamenco - and who runs the best theaters in the world for 25 years.

This evolutionary process is complemented with several images in which, either in his hotel room or in soundcheck, the public will evidence his immense perfectionism and a permanent obsession with rhythm. These episodes are also a master class in music.

The documentary also covers Paco deep reflections about life, politics, creation, solitude, good and evil; as well as a large and moving description of his personal and artistic encounter with whom he defines as "the most important level inspiration that has happened in my life, "Camarón de la Isla.

The story ends where it began, at his home in Mallorca, with Paco preparing his latest album in the privacy of his study.
