    • Synopsis
    • Manuel, Mariela, Carlos and Estella are metalheads and descendants of native peoples of Jujuy, a province in the north of Argentina where mountains, deserts, jungles and salt mines converge. It is a place where native, creole and mestizo communities coexist and share their folklore and ancestral traditions.
People from different regions join and create a Heavy Metal festival to raise awareness about environmental problems that affect their territory and to protect natural’s resources that is vital for the survival of their communities. By claiming Metal as their lifestyle, they fight against discrimination and prejudice, defend their identity and their lands, claim their rights and improve the quality of life of their communities. Their experiences reveal the diversity of miscegenation, where indigenous and western cultures, traditions and contemporary life are mixed. Their lyrics denounce the slavery and historical bondage their peoples went through. Their energetic music fuses the rhythms and instruments of indigenous folklore with the different aspects of a globalized culture. Their stories reflect their resilience to struggle against major social problems.
A cultural counter-attack that breaks down barriers to make their voice heard.
