- Synopsis
- Ao Arakawa works in a secondhand clothing store in Shimokitazawa. For the most part, he’s a loner. He goes to gigs from time to time, and his favorite bookstore and bar. He doesn’t say much, but he’s not totally silent either. The geographic scope of his daily life is extremely small, as he barely ventures outside of Shimokitazawa. That’s because it supplies him with everything he needs.
  
  Ao’s humdrum existence is disrupted by the unusual occurrence of an unexpected invitation to act in an independent movie. It takes him a while to work up the courage to accept it, and when he eventually does, a few days pass before he becomes aware that his life is changing. In the meantime, he crosses paths with several women...
