Synopsis
Out of Nowhere presents a world where darkness and chaos are inexplicably creeping in. The countryside, at first a haven for Lucy, becomes increasingly more threatening a presence as the story progresses. With Lucy painted into a corner, the sense of her being caged by an omnipresent darkness – shadows holding threats and secrets – grows. Ash and Tilly's presence at the cottage brings with it a sense of the urban, and their influence on the story will tie-in with a motif of bright blues, reds and oranges – car taillights, bright moonlight, phone screens and torchlights creating shadow in forests and low-ceilinged cottage rooms. Throughout, the camera will foreground the faces of the three women, creating hight-contrast looks which reflect the duality of their stories and the secrets hidden in their pasts.
