Every year a group of a dozen or so Japanese students decide to sign up for Polish Language and Culture Studies at the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. One of the compulsory tasks for second-year students is to stage a play in Polish. The documentary is not only about learning the Polish language and the word kiełbasa being hard to pronounce. It also observes how young people imagine adult life and how their projections clash with reality. Matej Bobrik’s film has the bittersweet taste of growing up.
