- Synopsis
- They say a woman’s instinct never fails her – it is her ultimate superpower. But what happens when this “superpower” manifests in realistic ways that threaten the very foundation of the woman’s marriage?
  
  ONOME is a romantic psychological drama that portrays the peculiar case of ONOME – a woman who has been childless for seven years and who then begins to sleep-talk, exactly on her thirty-first birthday. When her husband, SEGUN finds out about this, he waives it off, thinking it is a trivial issue. But Onome continues to talk in her sleep and each time, unconsciously predict real life events. She predicts these events so accurately that Segun begins to get scared. Most of the events always involve a calamity befalling Segun. He sends her to a psychotherapist but it even gets worse – Onome seems to know of his secret affair.
  
  In her sleep, Onome still talks about some of Segun’s secrets – including his illicit love affair with JANE, the receptionist at his office. This troubles Segun because he is trying to protect some of these secrets. He struggles to fight back against the unseen force tormenting him but his life takes a downward plunge until he eventually loses his job – another event predicted by Onome.
  
  At this point of dejection, Segun breaks. Onome finds out that she is pregnant but when she is about to tell Segun, he comes in and confesses that he has been having an illicit affair. Onome tells Segun to leave. Segun goes to beg Onome’s mother, Madam Margaret. He finds out that it was Madam Margaret who gave Onome a concoction that made her start to talk in her sleep. Madam Margaret then lectures Segun on the dangers of infidelity and the need to be patient during delayed conception in marriage.
