    • Synopsis
    • JASMINE, early twenties, and ANGIE her sparky friend, are travelling abroad for the first time on their dream trip overland through Africa. Mixed-race art student Jasmine is looking for some roots inspiration, but Angie, wild as always, just wants to party. So when Angie goes missing during a bizarre backpackers’ trance party in the bush, Jasmine quits the safety of the overland bus to take off in search of her friend.
Stranded at the roadside in the middle of the African bush, Jasmine accepts the help of quirky African loner, JULES, in trying to track Angie down. And Jules’ local knowledge seems just what Jasmine needs for support. The trail leads to a remote farmhouse in the bush. But when sculptor FRANK’S psychopathic guard-dog knocks them off Jules’ ancient motorbike, Jasmine’s plans turn upside-down.
Frank, who’s like some eccentric colonial gentleman, becomes increasingly intrigued by Jasmine. And Jasmine starts to learn some things about herself, too. With the help of Frank, she’s starting to get some glimpses of the Africa she’d always imagined. She’s impressed by Frank, but Jasmine’s still looking for clues to the whereabouts of her missing friend and Frank soon casts suspicion on Jules and his motives.
Meanwhile, Jules reacts badly to the herbal remedies that Frank insists will help his badly-gashed leg recover - and his nightmares make him increasingly paranoid.
When Frank trusts Jasmine enough to tell her his own story, Jasmine begins to understand the horrors of his past in the bush wars. So when she finally discovers that Angie is being held captive in the basement of Frank’s house, she formulates a plan to get them all out.
But after the increasingly psychotic Frank attacks Jules and leaves him for dead, Jasmine has to summon all her strength to confront her powerful adversary and to find a way to overcome him, if she and Angie are to escape this remote place alive.
And for Angie, the nightmare continues.
