- Synopsis
- The Olde Boys soccer team leave the comfort zone of their mid-week social league to enter a world masters tournament in Argentina. They train hard and recruit some additional players, but face an early crisis: their coach recommends that they withdraw fearing that they will embarrass themselves in the vaunted competition. Despite knowing that it will take a miracle to be successful, they decide to go ahead just for the fun of playing some soccer. Their South American adventure provides some good times, and some lucky escapes, as they savor the local culture. Despite a schism between two groups of the players, and a lingering tension between two of the stars, the team wins through to the final. With their families watching back home, can the underdogs take the trophy? As the final whistle blows, teamwork, humility, and a little self- reflection provide heart-warming rejuvenation for everyone.
