- Synopsis
- Patrick O’Reilly’s Miss Albany diner is fading fast. A relic of an earlier time, its clientele is an older generation of regulars and an occasional passerby, curious about the “diner with the cow on top.” His brother Francis, a priest in Manhattan, has a similar problem: his congregation isn’t showing up anymore, and they’ve taken to using an app for their confessions. When Francis is sent upstate to give Patrick the bad news about the diner’s imminent sale (their father willed the diner to the church but left Patrick in charge), the two brothers meet on a collision course that connects them to their struggles over mass appeal, public convenience, and good work … but in the end, connects them to each other. A dramatic comedy about food, faith, and family.
  
  Off the Menu is prequalified for Federal Tax Code 181, and eligible for New York's upstate film tax rebate, to be shot in few exterior locations and qualified studio space. Budget $3MM.
  
  OFF THE MENU is based on the short film RELAX (see link) which was completed in 2011. The feature film will be re-cast with age-appropriate recognizable talent to serve distribution objectives.
