    • 11 March 2002. John R. takes the doorman and 17 others hostage in the Rembrandt Tower in Amsterdam. Exactly 6 month after September 11th, the police and government are terrified. John R. wants to warn people about the fraud aimed at consumers and about the menace of wide screen television. At the end of the day, tragically, John commits suicide.Nobody ever found out what was the underlying motive for the act. For years and years, he was crusading against wide screen television and other modern technology. But it is too simple to believe, John R. is just another madman. The personal tragedy of John R. is the basis of this intriguing, psychological thriller. OFF SCREEN is a movie about a man who wants to convince the world that it is getting insane. Unfortunately John R. comes off worst.
