    • Synopsis
    • For the last two decades I’ve been working as an independent researcher and artist on the field of sound and listening. Although my work is based mostly on a practice closer to what we understand as sound-art, I’ve been working regularly on the field of cinema, at the beginning as sound engineer and later as sound designer or sound director. As a result, I did sound works for more than 80 short and feature films. And this is my very first film. A film that resumes most of my interests in aural culture attending to one of the oldest non-musical sounds existing among us: The sound of the oxcart. This now (at least in Europe) extinct sound has been the soundtrack of the civilization during the last 5.000 years and somehow I think it resumes a lot of singularities that help us to understand our contemporary listening culture. A sound that once was music, then became an unpleaseant noise and now is just silence.
After a ten year long research, we found this sound still alive in South America, so the film is an attempt to show, without words, without explanations all the history behind this special and peculiar sound.
