    • Synopsis
    • After eight years in a correctional school, young Spira,18, returns to his his home and his home in Reboleira, a slum in the Lisbon suburbs. He goes back to his family, his house and his childhood friends. Now he’s become a man, he sees Reboleira differently, the
      place where he grew up.
Still, much is unchanged. His friends Giovani and Chandi welcome him back and get him involved in their deals. The residents carry on partying and gossiping.
But nothing stays the same and even Reboleira has to face up to changes. The men have gone to work in Germany or Luxembourg, leaving their families behind. The girls have grown into women, such as Iara whom Spira falls in love with.
Giovani dreams of becoming a big time dealer, whatever it takes, before the council orders the bulldozers to demolish the area.
There’s a saying in Reboleira: “There’s no misery here, it’s just a struggle”. For Spira, the main difficulty will be Kikas, the old local gang boss who makes it very clear that he is not welcome here.
