- Society has transformed significantly over the past ten years in many important ways that have helped improve equality. But sometimes the changing landscape can make life a little awkward for average, ordinary, non-asshole citizens who are simply trying to navigate their lives without offending anyone.
  
  A ten minute look into Antonia's life in 2011 shows the inappropriate moment a celebrity asks her out in front of her boyfriend. A ten minute slice of Nick's life in 2012 shows the uncomfortable results after he wishes an African American man a happy Martin Luther King day. The movie alternates between each character's odd struggles each year while they try to get along with the folks they meet.
  
  Amiable Nick finds that being a straight white male in America during this decade of change means he is always walking into a problematic minefield. He clumsily navigates race relations, LGTBQ+ friendships, divorce, fatherhood, cults, and suicidal thoughts.
  
  Naive Antonia finds both an over-correction and a gross under-correction of misogyny in a contradictory society that demands both family values and woman’s independence. A decade of emotional and physical abuse from family members, boyfriends, professors, and MAGA followers transforms her into a hardened woman.
  
  Finally crossing paths in the current year, Nick and Antonia develop a fast connection. Unfortunately it’s based on their lack of connection with the rest of the world.
