Small Italian village Provvidenza was destroyed by an earthquake. Several people died and the rest of the community set up a new village near-by. However, Elia refuses to leave his old house. For him that place is still alive and he strains to keep its memory alive.

    • Synopsis
    • Elia, the last inhabitant of Provvidenza, a village destroyed by an earthquake, refuses to conform to the rest of the community, which, by moving to 'New Providence', has preferred to forget. For Elia, however, his village still lives on and, with the help of his old friend Gesualdo, he tries to keep its memory alive. When the mayor orders him to leave Providence, Elia would almost seem convinced to leave everything, if he did not suddenly begin to feel a strange presence. In reality, hiding in the rubble of the school, where his wife lost her life during the earthquake, is Noor. She is a young woman on the run and it will be this encounter, together with the desire to continue guarding Providence's memory, that will put Elia in front of an inexorable choice.
