    • Synopsis
    • Having narrowly survived the military coup and widespread conflict in his native, war-torn Mali, a young student named Moussa escapes to England in search of Julian, a former aid worker who once lived in his country. Until now they’ve never met. Or so it seems. The two reminisce about Malian music and culture, but also decry the new Jihadist regime, its harsh Sharia Law and atrocities, especially against musicians and women. When the initially warm encounter suddenly spirals, we soon learn their meeting is far from coincidental. Moussa has come for a reason: they both know a prominent Malian Singer named Ramata who has gone missing amid the occupation and needs Julian’s help. As they unravel the elusive mystery of Ramata’s disappearance, making surprising revelations along the way, breaking news of a brutal tragedy unfolds before their very eyes.
