- Synopsis
- The film is about Mrs. Ba Tran’s life, a Southern woman
  affected by Confucian and Feudal education. Born in a family that works on Vietnamese traditional medicine, Ba Tran is smart and powerful. After getting married to Mr. Hai Nhut – the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Council Huynh Van Linh, she became Mrs. Hai Nhut – the oldest daughter in law of Mr. and Mrs. Council – the wealthiest family in Dai Dien.
  As the saying goes “Three obediences and Four virtues”, Ba Tran is struggling with many strict rules from her husband’s family. Going through tragedies, Ba Tran is expected to be more warm-hearted and kinder to her daughter in law. Yet due to the pressures of preserving and maintaining the family rules, she, as a Mother in law, followed the same path of tragedy as other women.
