    • Not long before my father’s retirement, I asked him a somewhat obvious question. “What’s your plan after retirement?” He said, “I have my kinda plan.” He repeated the same answer every time I asked. “It’s no fun to say in advance.”

It came to my mind then “What’s he gonna do after retirement? How about making a documentary film about that” This film started from there.

As an art teacher in junior high, father has long cherished a dream to do painting as a street artist in Montmartre, Paris. I have heard enough of his dream since childhood. But this time, I have a hunch that he’s gonna do it.

However, his daily routines after retirement seemed normal and somewhat boring. Feeling sorry about that, I started to find a way for him to be a street painter in Montmartre. Then, he began to learn French and submitted documents to the city of Paris for the permission process.

A few months later, my father was allowed to be a street painter in Montmartre. He got excited as he was boarding the plane to Paris. I was wondering if anyone would buy his painting. But he says “Art is not to be made for sale. As I do what I like to do, I will eventually meet someone to buy my painting”

Well, would there be anyone to love his paintings?
Would he burn his dormant passion there?

This is about the second journey of the life of an ordinary man that starts in Montmartre.
