- Synopsis
- Three best friends, Romano, Pencil and The Pope rise quickly through the criminal underworld to take control of Amsterdam’s cocaine trade. However, jealously tears their friendship apart and they become enemies. The Pope joins up with his old school friend, Tatta, and goes into battle against Romano and Pencil. Unfortunately, his attempt to rip off Romano over a coke deal goes horribly wrong and two of his gang are killed. The Pope takes a gruesome revenge which ignites a long-running gang war and brings violence and death to the streets of Amsterdam.
  A retired criminal journalist and author, Rein de Kort, suspects that these events could be the beginning of a huge story. He makes a pact with an eager-to-learn apprentice from the local newspaper and together they investigate the dangerous truth about the Amsterdam underworld.
