Yukina Himuro (Tina Tamashiro) is a popular web novelist. Responding to her readers’ request, she begins writing a love story, but she has no experience in that field. As Yukina is scratching her head, her cousin Akira Shimotsuki (Kanta Sato) suggests her to take part in a fake relationship. But she feels bad about deceiving someone else.
Only then, she finds out of the secret side of the school’s most popular boy Shigure Kitami (Yuta Koseki). She does not feel bad about deceiving Shigure who proclaims relationships are just a way to train how to control others. Yukina decides to use Shigure’s weakness to her advantage. And so begins their scripted missions of love!
“Fall in love with me if you don’t want your secrets to be revealed!”
Shigure feels hesitant but listens to Yukina. They slowly hold hands in a classroom aglow the setting sun. “His palm transmitted a sweet warmth. As they clasped hands, their body heat slowly melted together.” With elements of real-life experiences, Yukina’s novel gains a strong following. A battle begins between her rival, Hisame Kitami (Daichi Kaneko) who writes under the name Dolce, in which the winner to get the most number of votes from readers will have their story made into a movie.
Yukina’s missions gradually escalate – hugging in the nurse’s office, a gentle bite on the neck, kissing on the lips… Thanks to these affairs, her novel continues to gain strong attention, although Mami Mizuno (Anna Yamada) who has feelings for Shigure, is doubtful of their relationship. Yukina is enjoying her success, but is alarmed by a comment she receives from her reader. “Real relationships are more painful.” Yukina who still doesn’t understand the pain of love goes to meet Shigure to give him another mission. However this ends in failure, as Shigure tells her that he cannot love anyone. Yukina is rejected and her heart is left with a deep scar.
Feeling pain in her heart for the first time, Yukina is perplexed from a feeling she has never experienced before. As voting day draws nearer, Dolce’s words strike Yukina.
“Novels based on real life experiences will sooner or later hit a dead end.” Still, Yukina is determined to write the ending to her romance in her own original way.
What happens to Shigure when his past is revealed, the love square involving Akira and Mami, and the outcome of the competition between Dolce... And what is Yukina’s final mission given to Shigure…?
