- This 10 episode limited series is inspired by true events that have occurred at "Therapeutic" schools for troubled teens. These private boarding schools have been the subject of controversy, lawsuits and Congressional hearings.
  
  MISFIT HEROES is a fictional drama, inspired by true events, about troubled teens in a school from hell who rise up to become state champions and heroes while exposing a morally corrupt staff.
  
  We follow Joe, addicted jock who is haunted by the death of his mother; Bee, an off-the-rails twitcher and influencer and an ensemble of self-destructive teens as they find themselves isolated in the “School from Hell”.
  
  The school staff uses abuse as “Therapy” and one counsellor named Chaney trades sex from girls for favorable treatment. Bee resists his attempts while Joe is placed in isolation for trying to escape. The abuse gets worse. The school riots. One of the girls molested by Chaney commits suicide and Bee vows revenge using herself as the bait.
  
  Coach Hayes, one of the good teachers, believes in building character through teamwork. With Joe, they rally the students around baseball and the success of this team of “Junkies and Juvies” becomes national news. They rise against all odds to the State Championship game.
  
  Finally, justice and redemption. Bee’s trap works and Chaney is arrested. Meanwhile, Joe and his underdog team of “Misfit Heroes” wins the championship. Amid a stadium of cheers, Joe and Bee embrace and the students without hope find pride and victory.
